Natural Stones

Every natural stone is different. Hardness, porosity, inclusions, internal fractures, and surface texture can vary from one mineral to another.

As a general rule:

• Avoid dropping your piece or knocking it against hard surfaces.
• Avoid prolonged soaking in water.
• Keep it away from perfumes, hairspray, household cleaners, chlorine, acids, and other strong chemicals.
• Remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, intensive exercise, or activities where it may be pulled, compressed, or struck.
• Do not expose natural stones to sudden or extreme temperature changes.

Some stones we use require a little more care than quartz. Lepidolite and fluorite are relatively soft; kyanite and moonstone can be more vulnerable to impact because of their natural structure and cleavage; and obsidian is a natural volcanic glass. These materials may scratch, chip, or break more readily and should be handled with extra care.

Natural inclusions, mineral lines, clouds, texture, and variations in transparency are part of the stone itself and are not signs of damage.

Cleaning

For most pieces, gentle cleaning is enough.

Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe the stone and hardware after wear. If needed, use a small amount of clean water on the cloth, then dry the piece thoroughly.

Avoid abrasive cloths, ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, harsh detergents, and chemical jewelry cleaners. When in doubt, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is the safest approach.

Metal Details

Perfume, skincare products, sweat, moisture, and chemicals can gradually affect the appearance of metal components.

We recommend putting your jewelry on after perfume, lotion, and skincare products have been absorbed, and wiping metal details gently after wear.

When not in use, keep the piece dry and stored separately to reduce scratching and unnecessary oxidation.

Natural changes to the surface of metal over time may occur with wear and environment.

Bracelets & Elastic

For stretch bracelets, roll the bracelet gently over your hand rather than pulling the elastic apart. Avoid repeatedly overstretching the cord or hanging heavy objects from the bracelet.

Over time, elastic is a wearable component and may naturally loosen with frequent use.

If the structure of your bracelet begins to feel noticeably loose, uneven, or insecure, stop wearing it and contact us before the cord fails.

Wood & Other Organic Materials

Wood and other organic materials respond naturally to moisture, oils, temperature, and the environment.

Avoid prolonged contact with water, alcohol, perfumes, cleaning products, and excessive humidity.

Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth and allow the material to age naturally rather than using aggressive cleaners or polishing products.

Natural shifts in tone or surface character may develop over time and are part of the material’s life.

Storage

When you are not wearing your piece:

• Store it in a dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat, as strong light or heat may affect the color or stability of some natural stones.
• Keep pieces separately where possible to prevent stones and metal parts from rubbing against one another.
• Avoid leaving jewelry loose in handbags, luggage, bathrooms, or other places where it may be compressed or exposed to moisture.

One-of-One & Scenic Stones

Pieces with distinctive inclusions, internal landscapes, unusual mineral structures, or more delicate natural formations deserve a little extra care.

Avoid unnecessary impact or pressure, particularly around visible internal features, edges, drilled areas, and settings.

For One-of-One and Three Thousand Worlds pieces, we recommend storing the piece separately when it is not being worn.

If Something Changes

If you notice a loose component, damaged cord, unstable setting, unexpected crack, or another structural issue, we recommend that you stop wearing the piece first rather than continuing to use it.

Please include your order number and a few clear photographs where possible so we can understand what has happened and advise on the next step.
